Do dealers have access to demo licences?
Once a dealer purchases an iPhone and/or an iPad licence, they are granted use of an additional licence per platform (Up to 1 x iPad and 1 x iPhone per dealer) as a 180 day demo licence, these licences auto renew if additional purchases are made during that time.
UPAre there discounts available if I purchase bulk licences?
We do offer discounts for bulk purchases, please contact us to discuss.
UPCan I move my licence to a new device when I upgrade it?
Yes, by using TPTransfer you can select the device you would like to deauthorize and press "Tools->Deauthorize" within the application. Once completed you can use your original token on another device compatible with the same "Device type" as the token.
UPWhich generation iPhone/iPod Touch do you recommend?
Simply put, the processors within the 1st Gen and 2nd Gen devices are a lot slower than the 3rd Gen and iPad. There is a significant performance difference between the 3G and 3GS iPhone as an example, approx by 200 MHz. Although TPControl works on the devices we highly recommend using at least a 3rd generation device or higher in an install.
UPWhat Android devices are recommended for use with TPControl?
Please review our section Android devices that have been classified for use with TPControl
UPI've seen the dealer price, what is the MSRP?
TPC offers the iPhone applications globally referenced at a US Dollar price. This is the price to authorized AMX dealers and distributors. Because market demand and pricing sensitivities vary greatly in different markets, TPC allows the local AMX channel to set their Sales Price as appropriate to their market.
UPHow do I make money when there is no MSRP?
TPC empowers the dealer to determine the best end-user price for their market. TPC can enable additional revenue by opening markets where traditional touch panels were overkill and by creating demand from existing installations for more AMX products. Dealer revenue can be driven from either a markup on the device licence itself or on the integration and development services for the TP4 file used on the device.
UPAre there any issues with iTunes allowing sync with only 5 devices?
There is no restriction imposed by TPControl on iTunes regarding syncing with one or more devices. The TPControl application can be downloaded to each device from the AppStore. The TPTransfer software can be hosted on any (including multiple) Windows PCs, and transfers TP4 files to one or many devices.
UPHow many devices can I use a licence on?
A licence is limited to use on one device only and is associated with the device itself, not with TPTransfer.
UPWhat happens if a user loses their device or upgrades to a newer device?
In the case a user loses their device or no longer can access their device, a deauthorization can be made manually by requesting a "deauthorization" within the user tokens section on the website. You can access your tokens by visiting "My Account>Tokens:Tpcontrol Licenses (TPCloud)"
UPWhat do I do if I require support for TPControl or TPTransfer?
Touch Panel Control has a service level agreement in place to support the AMX channel and there are a number of ways that we can be contacted if support is required. We will try to resolve any issues as quickly as possible; the methods in which we can be contacted for support are:
- Email - support@touchpanelcontrol.com
- On-Line Support Ticketing System - this is the preferred method as you will be able to track any issues you have posted as well as being notified on resolutions.
- TPControl Forum at the AMX Forums
What is AMX APP (Authorized Product Partner)?
The AMX Authorized Product Partner program (AMX APP or APP program) is a business and licensing framework designed to permit the limited, legal use of AMX intellectual property by third parties to build and market non-AMX branded products and/or govern joint selling of solutions. In the case of TPControl, the APP program agreement also ensures the product that both the end-user and dealer are using has been tested to AMX Quality Assurance standards, if not by AMX themselves. Furthermore, support for most, if not all, features of AMX’s Patented ICSP command set are implemented. Our APP program agreement also provides deep integration with patented AMX technology to work with current firmware, and is maintained as new firmware and features are made available. This includes, but is not limited to, built-in encryption technologies that can lock-out non-approved applications. Connectivity of the product with current and future AMX control systems is ensured with frequent releases based upon a commitment to continuous product improvement.
UPWhat is the relationship between 'The Dealer', 'The End User' and Touch Panel Control
TPC's aim is to empower the dealer to provide a quality end-user experience with a quality product for application to existing or new AMX integrated systems. Focusing on working with dealers, we put their needs first, enabling us to ensure that the Touch Panel Control integration solution (TPControl) can reach its full potential.
Support for the dealer is provided primarily by means of the support.touchpanelcontrol.com web site and the various resources employed there.
Maintenance and feature release updates are managed via the Apple AppStore, with the approval for update process maintained by the end-user.
UPWhat is the relationship between AMX and Touch Panel Control Ltd?

UPIs TPControl the only APP Application that is approved by AMX?
Currently TPControl is the only User Interface Application in the AMX Authorized Product Partner Program.
UPWhat are the benefits of participating in the AMX APP Program?
The APP Program can provide participants access to and authorization to use AMX Intellectual Property and Patents in their products.
