10 inch touch panel rumoured for next BlackBerry Playbook
Thursday, 2 August 2012 00:58:13 BST
The first BlackBerry Playbook tablet from RIM featured a seven inch display and a number of hardware facets, which were enough to outshine the iPad at the time of its launch.
However, it failed to catch on with consumers and so heavy discounts had to be made in order to shift the stock.
Now it seems RIM is going back to the drawing board and returning to the market, with a new Playbook that sports a 10 inch touch panel, encroaching even further on the iPad's area of dominance.
Pictures published on Tinhte, seem to legitimately show a much larger Playbook, which is even compared with the original to show the distinct difference in size.
It is expected to feature 4G network connectivity, which means it might be available only to US customers initially, since the UK is still without this kind of coverage.
Interestingly, the touch panel display seems to have adopted a 4:3 aspect ratio, which is once more similar to that of the iPad.
Meanwhile on the rear, the primary camera has been boosted with an LED flash, which should help to make the new Playbook a better all-rounder.
